Truce

“It is a tiring task to keep living when nothingness is all you wish for. Sometimes among all of this numbness, off key but in tune - the act of image making offers me distraction. Mistaken as peace, a truce is achieved and I stay alive.”

“Truce”, a solo exhibition by Ata Mojlish is curated by Kazi Tahsin Agaz Apurbo. It was open to the public at Dwip Gallery, Dhaka from January 25, 2020 to February 1, 2020.

With the use of image, sound, text and space, the exhibit focuses on grasping a sense of artist's identity and its impact on his mental health. It points to the strain of displacement through his biological, geographical and cultural roots. It expresses ideologies and views that he has left behind while subtly criticizing the politics of the larger system that deteriorates the artist's mental health.
